I had a bit of a rollercoaster life in my early years of youth; everyday confronting with poverty and violence. I originally come from a country full of rules, corruption and indigence but also haunted by the communist regime. Nine years ago, I have run away to find an escape and ended up on the streets of London, homeless struggling to survive. I have fought my way to the top and I have breakout through painting. My passion and love for painting has really saved my life in any way possible. For that reason my paintings are an expression of freedom and this is revealed through its three dimensions. To me working in three dimensional feels like is an extension of myself, a discovery of my potential and a chance to break free from a life that will always going to haunt me.
I am using Nature to communicate my ideas but please don’t presume that my work is just about flowers and plants. I am challenging my viewer to look behind the work. I am challenging my viewer to find me in that painting. It’s more like a psychological analisis.Don’t judge a book by its cover! In the real life, how many people could have been helped and saved if we were to take a minute and look behind the person we see. People are judgmental and very few asked themselves about the person behind the glass. How many children will escape from being bullied if kids were taught from a very young age not to judge something by its cover but to take time to know that person? How many homeless people could have a home if we stop being judgmental and learn to listen? How many people about to commit suicide could be saved if we were to look deeper into that person? Just because you see a smile do not assume that person is happy.
My work is an accumulation of feelings and experiences that have marked my life and truly that has been an inspiration for so many people. Each texture and use of colours has got their meanings and stories. Can you find my soul to those paintings?”
In my work, paint acquires different powers; it becomes alive through natural forms. It will take years to dry with the intention to compliment what my work stands for and that is to create a living alien nature made out of paint. The idea that my painting transforms in time is memorizing. My paintings are performing paintings as its communicating with our environment through its dimensions. In spite of how representational my artwork may seem it breaks conventional way of painting through its unique and laborious executions of painting. In order to create unique marks and textures I use unconventional tools to paint and my own designed painting machines to place the paint on the surface.
